MSI 2012 Summer Conference Announcement
We invite you to attend the University of Oregon Materials Science Institute Conference that will be held September 12-13th on the beautiful University of Oregon campus in Eugene. Registration is available online at: http://materialscience.uoregon.edu/msiconf.html
The conference begins Wednesday Sept. 12th at 5:00 pm and formally concludes the 13th at 6:00 pm. The conference will feature invited speakers, graduate-student speakers, vibrant poster sessions, a catered dinner and lunch, and UO campus/facilities tours. We expect the 2012 MSI conference to be attended by over 200 students, faculty, industrial scientists, and national laboratory scientists from Oregon and across the nation.
Session focus topics include organic materials, optical materials, nanomaterials and materials for energy. Tentatively confirmed invited speakers include:
- Organic Materials: Oksana Ostroverkhova (Oregon State University)
- Inorganic Films for Energy: David Ginley (National Renewable Energy Laboratory)
- Optical Materials: Michael Bartl (University of Utah)
- Functional Inorganic Nanomaterials: Daniel Gamelin (University of Washington)
- Biomaterials and Biophysics: Matthew Francis (University of California, Berkeley)
We encourage all attendees to present a poster for the conference if they are interested. Please submit your poster titles during the registration process.
