EXCURSION

In the afternoon of Wednesday, June 15th, there will be an organized excursion (free of charge) to Wanås Sculpture Park showing the exhibition Contemporary Nordic Sculpture 1980-2005.

Since 1987 international exhibitions of contemporary art have taken place at Wanås. Artists exhibit their work in the park surrounding the medieval castle, in the barn and in the stable. The projects vary from monumental sculpture to conceptual installations and are all site specific. 155 artists have exhibited at Wanås over the years, a permanent collection of works has gradually been established on the grounds, mainly by Nordic and American artists. Today there are 30 permanent works in the park.

Information about the additional possibilities for excursions will be available at Bäckaskog. The staff will also help in connection with such excursions e.g. car rental or minibuses.
